SURFACE TREATMENT MATERIAL AND SURFACE TREATMENT METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide, for example, a surface treatment material that simply and efficiently provides desired surface property to a surface of an image recording layer of an image recording material after image recording. SOLUTION: In the surface treatment material which includes a surface layer containing at least a fusible particle and a hardly fusible particle on a base material, and which is used to change surface property of the image recording material after image recording, a flow start temperature of the fusible particle is equal to or higher than 50°C and equal to or lower than a heating temperature in surface processing, the fusible particle fuses by surface processing to form a continuous film, a volume mean grain size of the hardly fusible particle is 1 to 30 μm, and the hardly fusible particle does not fuse by the surface processing and maintains a form of the particle, and a mixing ratio (hardly fusible particle:fusible particle) between the hardly fusible particle and the fusible particle is from 0.5:100 to 10:100.
