Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for stably producing a hot dip metal coated steel strip of high quality by suppressing generation of a coated surface defect caused by a splash. SOLUTION: Gas wiping nozzles A each having sub nozzles 2a and 2b are disposed opposite to each other via the steel strip X. A gas ejection direction of a main nozzle 1 of one gas wiping nozzle A is inclined relatively to a gas ejection direction of a main nozzle 1 of the other gas wiping nozzle A so that S/b to be a ratio of an offset amount S in the longitudinal direction of the steel strip in a collision center position of a synthesized jet ejected from respective gas wiping nozzles A to a slit gap b of the main nozzle 1 is in the range of 2.5≤S/b≤6.5.
