PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a washing or massage effect without increasing projections more than needed. SOLUTION: In an electric brush device 1, a brush part 3 comprising a flexible substrate 4 and a plurality of projections 5 crossing the surface 4S is held by the frame body 8 of an electric brush device body 2 being a driving part and a reciprocating drive means 12, and by repeatedly deflecting the substrate 4 in a direction crossing the surface 4S by the reciprocating drive means 12 connected to the center of the substrate 4, the respective projections 5 are repeatedly opened and closed with each other and the scalp S or the like is washed or massaged by the projections 5. Since the density of the projections 5 belonging to a second projection column 22, which are the group of the projections of the largest swing angle, is made larger than the density of the projections 5 belonging to projection columns 21, 23 and 24, which are the group of the other concentrically provided projections, the washing or massage effect of the scalp S is improved without increasing the projections 5 more than needed.
