Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for improving display quality of a display panel by: using a supersonic wave rotary pressing method as a method forming a concave part; developing a tool being suitable for the concave part being different from a laser and glass grinding and using it; and forming a concave part having appropriate shape and magnitude, wherein defective luminance is concealed by burying a light-shielding material in the concave part bottom plane part and burying a transparent material in a part other than the concave part bottom plane part so that the surface is made flat. SOLUTION: In a method for restoring defective luminance caused during a manufacturing process of a flat panel display, a concave part having a bottom plane of size in which width of a color filter or of black matrix of an effective pixel is considered is formed by using the supersonic rotary processing machine, for a first substrate and/or a second substrate corresponding to the defective luminance, and in a process in which a material for correction is filled in the concave part, the material is applied only to the bottom part without sticking to the side, and a transparent material is filled on the applied light-shielding material until it becomes the same level as the surface of the substrate at which the concave part is installed.
