Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for operating an inverted siphon structure of a sewer, capable of preventing the accumulation of sand or the like in a part with low flow velocity, and effectively pushing accumulated sand or the like to the downstream side. SOLUTION: The inverted siphon structure of sewer includes an upstream inverted siphon chamber 11 and a downstream inverted siphon chamber 12 connected respectively to an upstream sewerage 1 and a downstream sewerage 2 disposed across an obstacle 3 and extending down over the obstacle; and an inverted siphon crossing pipe 13 mutually connecting the lower ends of the upstream inverted siphon chamber and the downstream inverted siphon chamber below the obstacle. A number of floating bodies F having a large submerge capacity are floated in part lower in flow velocity of the other part of flowing water within the inverted siphon crossing pipe inclined downward toward the downstream side, and sewage water is carried to the inverted siphon crossing pipe while holding the floating bodies in that position.
