description PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple-structured living tissue closing device permitting easy procedure, and securely holding and joining living tissue such as the valve of oval foramen and the interatrial septum without injuring the tissue. SOLUTION: In the living tissue closing device, a clamping means K, having a puncture part 2 for puncturing the living tissue M in the periphery of a deficiency and a clamping member 1 for clamping the living tissue M in collaboration with the puncture part 2, is stored in a catheter 30. When the clamping means K is operated by a hand controlling part 70 disposed at the proximal end of the catheter 30, the clamping means K is made to project from the distal end of the catheter 30. When the living tissue M is clamped by the clamping means K, electric energy is fed by an energy feeding means 20 to the puncture part 2 and the clamping member 1 to fuse or necrotize the living tissue M, so that the deficiency is closed by the living tissue closing device. The living tissue closing device is characterized by a distal end holding member 50 disposed at the distal end of the catheter 30 for holding the clamping means K. The distal end holding member 50 is coupled with the catheter 30 in such a way as rotatable relative to the catheter 30. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
