description PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem wherein an end surface of a paper sheet medium is turned upward at a boundary between two members, in a paper sheet medium separation roller composed by combining the members made of two kinds of materials, which means, a material with high friction coefficient such as rubber used for a part of an outer periphery of the roller and a material with low friction coefficient such as resin, metal, etc., used for the rest of the parts. SOLUTION: Convex parts 2e having grooves 2d and slopes are formed and aligned at two positions on one side of the periphery of the circular member with low friction coefficient composing the roller. Convex parts 3b, 3c are formed on the both ends of the circular arc member with high friction coefficient. Slopes by chamfering are formed on top parts of these convex parts and peripheral surfaces on the both sides of the convex parts. The convex parts of the circular arc member are fitted to the grooves of the circular member to integrally compose the roller. The boundary between the both members in a direction orthogonal to the paper-sheet medium conveyance direction are split, and the slopes of the convex parts of the both members are engaged to each other to gently connect level difference in the outer diameter direction between the both members.
