PASTE FOR ELECTRODE AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME, ELECTRODE, MEMBRANE-ELECTRODE ASSEMBLY, AND FUEL CELL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode which can be simply manufactured and has an excellent binding property, excellent water repellency, excellent water resistance and excellent methanol resistance, and to provide a paste for an electrode suitable for manufacture of the electrode. SOLUTION: A method of manufacturing the paste for electrode has a process of blending, mixing and kneading an electron transportable material supporting a catalyst, a bridging compound (X) having a silicon-oxygen bond, a polymer material (Y) having an acid group and an aqueous dispersion (Z) including a fluorine-based resin which is fiberized by adding shearing force to fiberize the fluorine-based resin. The paste for electrode manufactured by the manufacturing method, the electrode using such the paste for electrode, a membrane-electrode assembly arranging such the electrode on both surfaces of the electrolyte membrane, and a fuel cell having such the membrane-electrode assembly, are provided.
