PUPIL IMAGING APPARATUS FOR SMALL ANIMALS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To clearly reflect the pupil enough to measure a pupil diameter on the basis of a captured image even for a small animal such as a rat or a mouse with red most which is difficult to measure the pupil diameter. SOLUTION: An infrared imaging optical system (4) whose imaging optical axis (Z) is turned to an imaging opening (2) is built in a frame body (3) with the opening (2) formed at the distal end, and the pupil imaging apparatus for small animals is provided with an infrared illumination system (6) for radiating infrared light from a light emission part (5) abutted to the head of the small animal, transmitting it through the head and making it be incident inside an eyeball, and a visible illumination system (7) for radiating stimulation light from the inside of the frame body (3) to the imaging opening (2). Also, an eye clip (8) to be abutted to the periphery of the eye of the small animal to block an eyelid from closing is disposed to the imaging opening (2). COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
