Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treatment approach which inhibits the fatal effects of sepsis and simultaneously minimizes potentially serious side effects. SOLUTION: There is provided the method for prophylactically or therapeutically treating sepsis or septic shock. The method involves administration of tissue factor pathway inhibitor (TFPI) or a TFPI analog to patients suffering from sepsis or other inflammatory conditions. The method also involves the use of continuous intravenous infusion of TFPI or a TFPI analog at low doses to avoid adverse side effects. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
