SOLUTION: In this method of evaluating the torsional natural frequency of the generator rotor, the modulus of transverse elasticity of a wedge-shaped member 4 is computed, based on the torsional rigidity ratio between a rotor core 1 and the wedge-shaped member 4, and the spring constants of a rotor core teeth part 3 and the wedge-shaped member 4 are computed, based on the modulus of transverse elasticity of the rotor core 1 and the rotor core 1 and the wedge-shaped member 4. Based on the spring constants of the rotor core teeth part 3 and the wedge-shaped member 4, the angular frequency of the rotor core part 3 and that of the wedge-shaped member 4 are computed, and these are composed. Based on the composed angular frequency, incremental torsional natural frequency is computed, and the rotor torsional natural frequency at stoppage is added to this incremental torsional natural frequency so as to compute the rotor torsional natural frequency at rotation.
