METHOD AND DEVICE FOR MEASURING WIDTH DIRECTION END POSITION OF BELT-LIKE MEMBER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and its device for measuring width direction end position of a belt-like member which can measure correctly the width direction position, with width dimension or the like. SOLUTION: The device for measuring width direction end position of the belt-like member detects the contour data of thickness direction at the width direction end part of each belt-like member of 2B to 4B, sets the measuring position (position of alternate long and short dash line in Fig.4) of the belt-like member thickness direction so as to measure the width direction end position of the belt-like member within the contour data based on the contour data, measures certainly the width direction end position of the belt-like member for every contour data, by measuring the width direction end position of the belt-like member (position of the contour line) of the set measuring position for every contour data, and measures certainly the width direction end position of the belt-like member over the length direction of the belt-like member as a whole, by detecting continuously the contour data for the length direction of the belt-like member.
