description PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce flicker noise even if the number of pixels in a pixel array is increased. SOLUTION: An image sensor includes a pixel array and a control unit 220. In the pixel array, a plurality of pixels P211 are arrayed in a row direction and a column direction, each of the pixels P211 being brought into a selected state when an electric potential of a charge-voltage converter 207 is between a first electric potential and a second electric potential, and being brought into a non-selected state when the electric potential of the charge-voltage converter 207 is a third electric potential. The control unit 220 performs, in a first period, a control operation of an electric potential of a signal line 8-1 to turn off a MOS transistor 232 while the electric potential of the charge-voltage converter 207 of the pixels brought into the selected state is maintained at an electric potential of the selected state, and performs, in a second period subsequent to the first period, a control operation of the electric potential of the signal line 8-1 to turn on the MOS transistor 232 while the electric potential of the charge-voltage converter 207 of the pixels brought into in the selected state is maintained at an electric potential of the selected state.
