description PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an asphalt composition from which an asphalt mixture having performances equivalent to or higher than those of a conventional one can be obtained without lowering production capability even if the production temperature of the asphalt mixture is reduced by 10-50°C than the conventional production temperature. SOLUTION: The asphalt composition is obtained by blending one or more aliphatic acid derivatives selected from (A) aliphatic acid amide compounds represented by general formula (1): R1-CONH-R2, and (B) 8-30C aliphatic acid salts of metals of groups 3, 4, 7 and 8 or 11 to 14 of the periodic table with asphalt. In the general formula (1), R1represents a 7-23C alkyl group or alkenyl group which may be substituted with a hydroxy group or a salt between a hydroxy group and a metal selected from alkali metals, alkaline-earth metals and metals of group 12 of the periodic table; and R2represents a hydrogen atom, a metal selected from alkali metals, alkaline-earth metals and metals of group 12 of the periodic table or a 1-24C alkyl group or alkenyl group which may be substituted with a hydroxy group or a salt between a hydroxy group and a metal selected from alkali metals, alkaline-earth metals and metals of group 12 of the periodic table.
