description PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To join a glass material and a resin material without using an adhesive and without thermally deforming both of them. SOLUTION: A smooth surface of the glass material 2 and a smooth surface of the thermoplastic resin material 4 are brought into contact with each other, and an absorbing member 3 which absorbs a laser beam is brought into contact with the opposite side of the contact surface with the resin material of the glass material 2 while the absorbing member 3 is irradiated with the laser beam to make it heat and this heat is conducted to the resin material 4 through the glass material 2 to locally melt the resin material to bite the same in the fine uneven surface of the glass material 2. By this method, the glass material 2 and the resin material 4 are directly joined. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
