AUDIO MODE DETECTION APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an audio mode detection apparatus for detecting an audio mode of broadcast. SOLUTION: The audio mode detection apparatus 200 includes: an input unit 201 to which audio signals of two systems in an unknown audio mode are input; a silence detection unit 202 for detecting that the audio signals of the two systems are silent; an arithmetic unit 203 for calculating an inter-correlation coefficient of the audio signals of the two systems; a feature extraction unit 204 for detecting stereo and bilingual features on the basis of the inter-correlation coefficient; a stereo feature accumulation unit 206 for counting a duration of the feature of stereo; a bilingual feature accumulation unit 207 for counting a duration of bilingual features; and a comparison/determination unit 208 that determines monaural when the silence detection unit 202 detects silence, or determining either stereo or bilingual based on the duration of the stereo features counted by the stereo feature accumulation unit 206 and the duration of bilingual features counted by the bilingual feature accumulation unit 207 after the silence detection unit 202 detects silence.
