PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game machine giving step-up notice and changing background colors of a plurality of symbols while observing the varying symbols. SOLUTION: The game machine 1 variably displays a plurality of symbols on reels 71L, 71C, 71R and carries out internal lottery. The reels 71L, 71C, 71R have a reel drum 91a and electronic paper 90L, 90C, 90R attached to the outer periphery of the reel drum 91a and displaying the plurality of symbols. The game machine 1 includes a plurality of background color display patterns that change the background colors of the electronic paper 90L, 90C, 90R, referring to the result of the internal lottery, and selects one background color display pattern out of the plurality of background color display patterns.
