METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR BIOLOGICAL TREATMENT OF WATER CONTAINING ORGANIC MATTER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the contamination of a separation membrane when water containing an organic matter is biologically treated and used as the raw water for the production of pure water. SOLUTION: In the method, anaerobic sludge composed mainly of methanogens is retained in a reactor 10. The water containing the organic matter is supplied as the water to be treated to the reactor 10 through a raw water pipe 30, and is subjected to anaerobic biological treatment with the methanogens. The treated liquid obtained by the anaerobic biological treatment is subjected to solid-liquid separation in a membrane separator 12 disposed in the outside of the reactor 10, and the separated water is desalinated in a reverse osmosis membrane unit 14. The concentrate water discharged from the reverse osmosis membrane unit 14 is treated in an Anammox tank 41 that is another biological treatment tank provided separately from the reactor 10. The concentrate water may be subjected to chemical treatment with a reaction column, an evaporator or the like, or to physical treatment. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
