description PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an isolation transformer capable of improving insulation properties between primary and secondary sides by a compact and simple structure and securing an insulation distance required absolutely for increasing a voltage further. SOLUTION: A first bobbin 1 having a primary coil 3 wound thereon and a second bobbin 2 having a secondary coil 6 wound thereon are arranged adjacent to each other in a mutual axis direction, and a closed magnetic path is formed of a core arranged across the first and second bobbins. The core is divided into a first core 10 positioned on the side of the first bobbin 1 and a second core 11 positioned on the side of the second bobbin 2, and an insulating member 13 is interposed between opposing surfaces in the axial direction of the first and second bobbins and between the opposing surfaces of the first and second cores. Outer peripheries of the primary and secondary coils and those of the first and second cores are continuously surrounded in the axial direction by a cylindrical outer-periphery covering member 12 having insulation properties.
