Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a non-conjugated diene compound, which comprises telomerizing a conjugated diene compound, and adding a compound, preventing the loss of the conjugated diene compound due to its polymerization and inhibiting the deterioration in the activity of a palladium catalyst, to the reaction system, and by which the objective non-conjugated diene compound can be produced in high selectivity and in a high yield. SOLUTION: This method for telomerizing a conjugated diene compound in the presence of a catalyst comprising the palladium compound and a tertiary phosphorous compound and a hydroxy compound represented by formula: R1OH (R1is H or a 1-4C alkyl group) to produce the non-conjugated diene compound represented by general formula [(m) is an integer of 0 to 2], is characterized by performing the telomerization reaction in the presence of a phenol compound having a specific structure in an amount of 0.1 to 12 moles per mole of palladium atom in the palladium compound.
