SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 10 that includes a scanner unit 12 and a printer unit 14, comprises: a storage unit 16 for storing a first table that relates a specific color to a symbol explicitly showing the specific color and a second table that relates a level of color information of the specific color to a form of the symbol; a color discrimination unit 13a which discriminates a color based on color information in each portion of a color image and extracts a region having the specific color of which the color information is a predetermined level; and a symbol combination unit 13b which specifies a symbol corresponding to the specific color by referring to the first table, specifies a form of the symbol corresponding to the level of the color information of the specific color by referring to the second table, and combines the specified symbol with the region having the specific color in the specified form to produce a combined color image.
