Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat pump water heater capable of preventing a rise of water temperature in a hot water storage tank and executing a hot water supply operation of high energy efficiency. SOLUTION: In this heat pump water heater comprising a refrigerant circuit constituted by successively connecting a compressor 31, a heat exchanger 32 for hot water supply, a pressure reducing device 33 and an evaporator 34, a hot water supply circuit 46 for heating the water in the hot water storage tank 41 successively through a circulation pump 43 and the heat exchanger 32 for hot water supply, a three-way valve 44 disposed at a downstream side of the heat exchanger 32 for hot water supply, of the hot water supply circuit 46, and a bypass circuit 47 connecting the three-way valve 44 and an upstream side of the circulation pump 43 of the hot water supply circuit 46, and provided with a radiating means 48 in the bypass circuit 47, the rise of water temperature at a lower portion of the hot water storage tank 41 is prevented and the hot water supply operation of high energy efficiency can be performed.
