Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve efficiency in a single-screw compressor by reducing motive power consumed by the slide of a screw rotor and a gate rotor. SOLUTION: In the screw rotor (40), a first suction-side region (45) is firmed on the first sidewall face (42) of a helical groove (41). On this first sidewall face (42), a portion from its starting end up to a position at which a compression chamber (23) is closed off forms the first suction side region (45) as a whole. The first suction side region (45) is made lower than the portion of the first suction side region (45) in the first sidewall face (42), so that it does not contact with a gate (51) of the gate rotor (50).
