SOLUTION: Discharged matter from a reactor 2 of the hydrothermal gasification device is cooled, flammable gas is separated and recovered by a gas separator 6, and the drainage and the residue are extracted thereafter to outside of a system through a solid and liquid recovering vessel 7, in this method of the present invention for extracting the drainage and the residue from the hydrothermal gasification device. The recovered gas separated by the gas separator 6 is introduced into the solid and liquid recovering vessel 7 to increase pressure of the solid and liquid recovering vessel 7, prior to moving the drainage and the residue from the gas separator 6 to the solid and liquid recovering vessel 7, then the drainage and the residue are moved from the gas separator 6 to the solid and liquid recovering vessel 7, and the pressure of the solid and liquid recovering vessel 7 is decreased thereafter to extract the drainage and the residue to the outside.
