PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically restart a relay apparatus without interrupting a communication service to a specific communication device. SOLUTION: This relates to a relay apparatus 1, to which communication devices are connected, comprises: a signal discrimination unit 2 for discriminating whether or not a reception signal received from each of the communication devices is a timing signal from a specific communication device; and a restart control unit 3 which restarts the relevant relay apparatus 1 in a case where the signal discrimination unit 2 discriminates the reception signal as the timing signal from the specific communication device and in a state where the relevant relay apparatus 1 requires restart.
