Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To raise airtightness between a piston and a piston ring. SOLUTION: A backup seal 20 for preventing fluid leakage from an abutment joint 24 provided in the piston ring 21 is installed between an outer periphery of the piston 8 reciprocating in a cylinder 9 and an inner peripheral face of the piston ring 21 fitted on the outer periphery of the piston 8. The backup seal 20 is installed in such a manner that a cut portion 20a formed in a proper position of its circumferential part does not overlap with a clearance of the abutment joint 24 of the piston ring 21, and the backup seal 20 is provided with a bent piece 20b for preventing a displacement relative to the piston ring 21 in its circumferential direction.
