LOG COLLECTION AND MANAGEMENT METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method which facilitates setting to a log collection object machine while preventing leak or error during the setting in collection of logs from a plurality of machines in which a plurality of output products is operating. SOLUTION: The method provides means for collecting information of products installed to each log collection object machine, generating an operation definition file for each product for each log collection object machine, and providing setting information to the log collection object machine side. The method further provides a means for adding a definition for selecting logs to be collected to the operation definition file. The method even further provides a means for cutting and storing necessary data in a database according to the definition by enabling definition of a rule for cutting out the necessary data from the collected logs.
