Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preparing a vinyl aromatic compound polymer by polymerizing a vinyl aromatic compound using a metallocene catalyst, whereby a polymer excellent in transparency can be prepared. SOLUTION: In the preparation method of the vinyl aromatic compound polymer, a monomer containing the vinyl aromatic compound is polymerized using the metallocene catalyst in the presence of polysubstituted phenols. In the preparation method of the vinyl aromatic compound polymer, the polymerization is conducted preferably in the presence of 0.01-100 wt. ppm polysubstituted phenols based on the total weight of the monomer.
