description PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bridge fall prevention device which is easily mountable on a bridge girder without bolting or welding, and brings about improved workability. SOLUTION: The bridge fall prevention device is formed of a frame 11, a press-fitting member 16 rotatably supported by a pin 15 mounted in the frame 11, and a connection wire W having one end thereof connected to the frame 11. The press-fitting member 16 always abuts on a side surface 32b of the bridge girder by elastic force of a spring 17. At the time of an earthquake, if tensile force is applied to the connection wire W, the tensile force is transmitted via the frame 11 and the pin 15 to the press-fitting member 16 which is then press-fitted to the side surface 32b of the bridge girder. The stronger the tensile force applied to the connection wire W becomes, the more rigidly the press-fitting member 16 is press-fitted to the side surface 32b of the bridge girder. Thus by virtue of the strong press-fitting, a teeth portion 16a of the press-fitting member 16 bites into the side surface 32b, and thus the press-fitting member 16 is rigidly fixed to the bridge girder 3.
