description PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a window structure which holds down heat incident in a room via double-glazing during the daytime in summer, and effectively uses heat around the double glazing during the daytime in winter, to thereby obtain a comfortable living environment, and to provide a window cooling method. SOLUTION: The window structure has an external frame 12 mounted on a building skeleton, a sash 14 arranged inside the external frame 12, and the double-glazing panes 48 arranged in the sash 14. The window structure is also formed with: a blind 34 arranged on the inside of the glass panes 48, making an upper portion openable, and having no gap formed therein; an upper venting portion 38 communicating between an upper space between the glass panes 48 and the blind 34 and the ambient air; and a lower venting portion 28 communicating between a lower space between the glass panes 48 and the blind 34 and the ambient air. The window structure is further formed with a pair of opening/closing members 32, 42 for opening/closing the upper venting portion 38 and the lower venting portion 28, respectively. An outside surface of the glass panes 48 is subjected to hydrophilic treatment, and the window structure is further provided with a water discharging pipe 52 mounted on an upper portion of the outside of the glass panes 48, and a mesh sheet 62 arranged in the vicinity of the water discharging pipe 52, and covering an upper external surface of the glass panes 48.
