SOLUTION: A filter system for an internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle has an unfiltered air inlet 12, a filtered air outlet 11, a housing and a filter element arranged in the housing. The housing comprises a lower member 10 and an upper member 14. The upper member 14 of the housing has a support grate embedded in foam material.
