COATING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating apparatus in which a fluid material is surely guided to the upper surface of a substrate while preventing the contact of a discharge part with the substrate. SOLUTION: The coating apparatus is provided with a guide part for guiding the phosphor paste to be discharged from a plurality of discharge ports 422 of the discharge part to the upper surface 91 of the substrate 9 when the application of phosphor paste is started. The guide part is provided with a plurality of guide plates 611 each of which extends to a main scanning direction and has a sheet metal-like shape perpendicular to the upper surface 91 of the substrate 9. When the discharge part is positioned in a discharge starting position, the front edge parts 6112 of the plurality of guide plates 611 are positioned respectively under the plurality of discharge ports 422 while being parted slightly from the plurality of discharge ports. When the discharge of the phosphor paste is started, the phosphor paste is guided to the side of the substrate 9 so that the phosphor paste discharged from the discharge port 422 is prevented from being retained and swollen on the surface of a nozzle 421 near the discharge port 422.
