description PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wavelength variable laser light source capable of achieving the reduction of power consumption, by mounting an etalon which is disposed in an external resonator at a low loss. SOLUTION: The present invention relates to an external resonator type wavelength variable laser light source that includes a narrow-band filter with a plurality of desired wavelengths as a transmittance peak and a wide-band filter with a desired wavelength range as a reflectance peak, wherein the narrow-band filter is an etalon 4 and the wide-band filter is a liquid crystal filter 6. A guide 5 is provided which supports the etalon 4 so that the etalon 4 disposed in the external resonator has an angle in the longitudinal direction. Alternatively, when the etalon is connected on the bottom surface, the thickness of the bonding material of the connecting part is adjusted so as to have an inclination that is different in front and the back directions of an optical axis.
