Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly reliable heat pump type air conditioner for a vehicle capable of heating the inside of the vehicle stably while preventing adhesion of frost on an outdoor heat exchanger even in a cold district. SOLUTION: In this heat pump type air conditioner for the vehicle incorporating a compressor 1, a four-way valve 2, the outdoor heat exchanger 4, an expansion valve 6, and an indoor heat exchanger 5 to constitute a refrigerating cycle allowing circulation of refrigerant and provided with an indoor blower 7 arranged to exchange heat between the indoor heat exchanger 5 and air and an outdoor blower 8 arranged to exchange heat between the outdoor heat exchanger 4 and air, a hot water heat exchanger 12 is arranged on the upstream side in the direction of wind of the outdoor heat exchanger 4 and is connected with a tank 10 incorporating an engine 9 through a hot water pipe 11.
