description PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing method and an image processor which are characterized by a roundness measurement method which is capable of precisely measuring roundness without erroneous judgement. SOLUTION: In steps A1 to A4, work parts being a prescribed pixel group included in image data are extracted and separated. In a step A5, a contours of each separated work is searched to detect coordinates of all pixels belonging to the outer circumference. In a step A6, center coordinates of a circle are detected on the basis of coordinates of pixels belonging to the outer circumference. In a step A7, an average distance from the center to the outer circumference, the longest distance, and the shortest distance are calculated from coordinates of outer circumferential pixels and the center coordinates. In a step A8, roundness is measured by using the average distance from the center to the outer circumference, the longest distance, and the shortest distance. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
