description PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading device which is simple in structure, space-saving, and capable of obtaining a stable irradiating light volume without causing a deterioration/damage to the harness cover of a light source, and to provide an image forming device using the same. SOLUTION: The image sensing device 40A is equipped with a scanner unit 3 which is provided with an exposure lamp 3A, an optical lens 6, and a CCD 7 to scan an original G for each line. The scanner unit 3 is characterized by the fact that it is equipped with a reflection/guide mirror 4A which fixes the exposure lamp 3A to a device main body and reflects light sent from the exposure lamp 3A, a diffusion board 4B which radiates light reflected from the reflection/guide mirror 4A toward the original G, a first scanning unit 4 which moves the reflection/guide mirror 4A and diffusion board 4B so as to irradiate the original G with light, and a second scanning unit 5 which reflects light radiated from the diffusion board 4B toward the original G and moves corresponding to the movement of the first scanning unit 4 so as to make an irradiating light volume from the original G to the CCD 7 constant.
