SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing a bearing ring such as an inner ring 2 having the seal sliding face 2c of the sealed rolling bearing comprises forging a steel material into an inner ring raw material W formed in the shape of the inner ring 2, applying heat treatment to the inner ring raw material W, and cutting the seal sliding face 2c in the inner ring raw material W to which heat treatment is applied. This hardened steel cutting process includes an initial cutting step of feeding a tool to the cross direction of the seal sliding face 2c while rotating the inner ring raw material W to cut the whole seal sliding face 2c, and a following smoothing step. In the smoothing step, the same tool 7 as in the initial cutting step is applied to the seal sliding face 2c cut in the initial cutting step and reciprocated to the cross direction of the seal sliding face 2c while rotating the inner ring raw material W.
