Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for a light scattering type liquid crystal display that prevents a liquid crystal material from deteriorating due to light irradiation, when a liquid crystal layer is formed. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method for the liquid crystal display includes the steps of sticking a first substrate 10 and a second substrate 20 together at a prescribed interval, while putting formation-surface sides for a first electrode 11 and a second electrode 21 opposite to each other; charging a liquid crystal layer forming material, containing a liquid crystal material 33 and a polymerizable compound 34, between the first substrate 10 and the second substrate 20; and forming the liquid crystal layer 30, having liquid crystal parts 35 dispersed in a polymer 34' by polymerizing the polymerizable compound 34 by irradiation with light (h). In the step of forming the liquid crystal layer 30, the polymerizable compound 34 is irradiated with a light (h) via a light selective filter 40 having a dielectric film 42 provided on a top-surface side of a UV cutting filter 41 to irradiate the polymerizable compound 34 selectively with a light h', in a wavelength range with which the polymerizable compound 34 is made to polymerize for light, in a wavelength range where the liquid crystal material 33 absorbs.
