Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new multiple component stent which allows for initial self-expansion in a body and subsequent deformation to a final enlarged diameter. SOLUTION: The stent 30 has at least two layers 32 and 34. One layer 32 is an Ni-Ti alloy and is normally in an austenitic state. The other layer 34 is the Ni-Ti alloy and is normally in a martensitic state. When the stent 30 is released to a prescribed position in the body, it expands to a fixed percentage of the length and shape at self-expansion time by the layer 32 changing from martensite to austenite. At this time, a balloon makes the stent to expand in the radial direction by deforming the martensite layer 34, and can be used for making it to have a larger permanent diameter.
