IMAGE CARRIER AND IMAGE FORMING METHOD USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image carrier which eliminates a charging step in which ozone, NOx, etc., are produced, can perform electrostatic latent image formation with high potential contrast, and further performs bipolar latent image formation by changing the polarity of an applied bias, and to provide an image forming apparatus, a process cartridge, and an image forming method. SOLUTION: Latent image formation is performed by bias application simultaneously with photoirradiation using the image carrier having a photosensitive layer 12 containing at least a hole transport material, an electron transport material and a charge generating material on a conductive support 11.
