Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a snow melting device which can be installed without adopting a method of removing a roof material and then installing a heater or the like, and without touching the roof material like tiles. SOLUTION: In the method for installing the snow melting device on a building having a roof comprising a rafter 7, a sheathing roof board 8 supported on the upper surface of the rafter 7, and the roof material like the tiles 10 laid on the upper surface of the sheathing roof board 8, the snow melting device comprises a thin metal plate p laminated on a rear face of the rafter 7 and the sheathing roof board 8 forming an attic, an electrothermal sheet heater h provided on a lower surface side of the thin metal plate p, and a thermal insulation plate arranged on the lower surface thereof to insulate heat.
