MOBILE ELECTRONIC DEVICE, AND METHOD FOR OPENING AND CLOSING SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile electronic device with a simple structure whose opening and closing case to be folded up on a holding case can be opened and closed by operation of only one hand, in a state that the holding case is held with the palm of the one hand, and to provide its opening and closing method. SOLUTION: The holding case 102 of the mobile telephone (mobile electronic device) 100 can be held with a palm, and its opening and closing case 105 can be opened and closed with a hinge mechanism 109. A push rod 115 can be slid in the directions of an arrow 135, and its closing contact surface 118 touches the closing contact surface 134 of the case when the telephone is opened nearly to its completely opened state as illustrated, the opening contact surface 117 of the push rod touches the opening contact surface 132 of the case in a closed state respectively, and the movement of the push rod 115 interlocks with the opening and closing operation of the case 105. Thereby, the telephone can be opened or closed with the push rod 115 in an angle range where opening and closing operation by one hand is difficult.
