SOLUTION: The fishing rod includes the top rod 10 having a flat region 10a at least at a part of the cylindrical periphery surface, and constituted of a superelastic alloy or a superelastic resin. The outer periphery surface region of a neutral axis X parallel to the flat region 10a of the top rod 10 has a reinforcing part 20 having a flexural modulus higher than that of the superelastic alloy or the superelastic resin and oriented in the longitudinal direction.
