Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for improving the efficiency of production of a purine-based material such as a purine nucleoside and a purine nucleotide by fermentation, and to provide a bacterium used for the production. SOLUTION: The bacterium belonging to the genus Bacillus, modified by mutation or the like so as to have resistance under a high osmotic pressure, and having purine nucleoside-producing ability is provided. The method for producing the purine nucleoside comprises culturing the bacteria and collecting the purine nucleoside such as inosine, xanthosine and guanosine from the bacteria or a medium.
