OPTICAL SYSTEM FOR CONDENSING LIGHT IN SQUARE PATTERN AND UV RAY IRRADIATION APPARATUS FOR LIQUID CRYSTAL PANEL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical system for condensing light in a square pattern, the system that irradiates a square part with light at high illuminance and uniformity, that is in a small size with high irradiation efficiency, and to provide a UV ray irradiation apparatus for a liquid crystal panel using the optical system. SOLUTION: The optical system 10 for condensing light in a square pattern comprises at least two condensing units 20 for straight lines, each unit having a rod lens 1 and a plurality of light emitting diodes 2 and the light emitting diodes arranged close to the rod lens and along the longitudinal direction or the lens, and at least one condensing unit 30 for a corner comprising four optical modules 31 assembled into a cross form, each module having a cylindrical lens 3 and a plurality of light emitting diodes 4 and the light emitting diodes arranged closed to the cylindrical lens and along the longitudinal direction of the lens, wherein a pair of condensing units 20 for straight lines are placed in intersecting directions over one condensing unit 30 for a corner.
