Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a precursor fiber for a carbon fiber, achieving excellent characteristics in various composite materials according to applications. SOLUTION: The method for producing the acrylonitrile-based precursor fiber for the carbon fiber is carried out so as to satisfy the expression of the formula between a crystal region size obtained from (100) reflection of a polyacrylonitrile of the obtained precursor fiber and the total drawing ratio, crystal region size(nm) ≥0.92× total drawing ratio +6 (wherein, total drawing ratio ≥6).
