description PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display panel in which light leakage from an end portion thereof is suppressed, and at the same time, deterioration in the image quality in a display region thereof, caused by electrolytic corrosion produced on a black matrix, is prevented. SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal display panel 10 having one substrate 11 with a predetermined wiring pattern and pixel electrodes formed thereon; the other substrate 21 with the black matrix 22, a common electrode 19, and a color filter formed thereon into predetermined shapes; a liquid crystal layer 25, formed between both substrates 11, 21 stuck to each other via a sealing material 23; and contact materials 24, arranged on corner portions of both the substrates for the purpose of electrically continuity between the electrodes of both the substrates, the black matrix 22 is also formed on the periphery of the display region 12, and a slit is formed so as to surround the display region 12 and the contact materials 24.
