Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air cleaner having improved air cleaning function and a high practical utility. SOLUTION: This air cleaner is provided with an air cleaning cartridge 10 formed by filling a vertically long cylindrical housing 15 with unspecified number of charcoal balls 11 formed by sticking and fixing charcoal materials on the whole surface of a spherical core material, a hollow support base 30 linked with the lower end part of the cartridge 10, and a heater 40a as a heat source 40 stored in the support base 30; and an ascending air current generated by energization of the heater 40a is cleaned by positively circulating it from a bactericidal lamp 41 to the cartridge 10.
