SOLUTION: The acidic acrylic block resin contains a block (A) which substantially does not contain carboxylic acid groups and a block (B) which contains carboxylic acid groups. A block (B') having hydroxy groups is prepared by living polymerization of monomers containing monomers with hydroxy groups. The hydroxy groups of the block are then modified by a compound (c) that reacts with the hydroxy groups and generates carboxylic groups which exist after the reaction to obtain the block (B) containing carboxylic acid groups.
