Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a vertical waveguide slot array antenna, through which for vertically polarized waves, the horizontal plane directivity approaches as close to non-directional as possible. SOLUTION: Slots of the so-called "truncated chevron" shape are provided at the same position, in the axial direction of a waveguide forming the same angle with the axial direction of the waveguide or forming certain angles opposite to each other with the axial direction of the waveguide on both the side narrow walls of the rectangular wave guide. When the slots on the sides are provided forming the same angle with the axial direction of the waveguide, and furthermore, the waveguide is filled up with dielectric material; the wide wall width of the waveguide is shortened, corresponding to a wavelength reduction in the waveguide so as to decrease the gain reduction in the intermediate angle direction or; shielding plates are provided upright to the wide walls of the waveguide so as to decrease the gain reduction in the intermediate angle direction; and furthermore, both these means to decrease the gain reduction are utilized to turn horizontal plane directivity almost non-directional.
